Yulefest Accommodation - Blue Mountains
Since the early 1980's the people of the Blue Mountains have been celebrating Yulefest.
It began when a group of Irish men were staying at the Mountain Heritage Hotel. They were enjoying sitting around the warm log fire while snow fell outside. They remarked to their host that "it feels like Christmas at home in Ireland". The host thought it would be a great idea to re-create a festive 'Winter Christmas' atmosphere for his Irish guests - with all the trimmings including falling snow, Christmas feasts of turkey, mince pies and plum puddings with brandy custard - all part of the Yulefest celebrations.
Since then Yulefest has grown to become the major seasonal event of the Blue Mountains in the winter months of June, July and August and is enjoyed annually by visitors from all over the world.
Many venues offer traditional Christmas style celebrations.
While cold winds blow and the occasional snow falls, experience warm Blue Mountains' hospitality, log fires, Christmas fare, sing-alongs and perhaps even Santa. Yulefest in the Mountains is a special time to celebrate winter with traditional Yulefest dinners and luncheons, live entertainment, carols and decorations - all adding to the Yulefest atmosphere.
For those who cannot visit during the Yulefest season, the Blue Mountains enjoy four "European" style seasons.
The accommodation in the area caters to guests all year round. Enjoy many tours and activities that attract more than 2 millions visitors a year. The Blue Mountains has unique and fully inclusive tours that take in all aspects of the Blue Mountains.
