Yulefest Blue MountainsSince the early 80's the people of the Blue Mountains have been celebrating Yulefest it began when a group of Irish men were staying at the Mountain Heritage Hotel. They were enjoy sitting around the warm log fire while snow was falling outside. They said to their host that "it feels like Christmas at home in Ireland". The host thought it would be a great idea to re-create for his Irish guests, a festive 'Winter Christmas' atmosphere with all the trimmings including falling snow, Christmas feasts of turkey, mince pies and plum puddings with brandy custard are all part of the Yulefest celebrations.

Since then Yulefest has grown to become the major seasonal event of the Blue Mountains in the winter months of June, July and August and is enjoyed annually by visitors from all over the world. Many venues offer traditional Christmas style celebrations. While cold winds blow and the occasional snow falls, experience warm 'Mountains' hospitality, log fires, Christmas fare, sing-along's and perhaps even Santa. Yulefest in the Mountains is a special time to celebrate winter with traditional Yulefest dinners and luncheons. live entertainment, carols and decorations all add to the Yulefest atmosphere.

For those that can't visit during the Yulefest season, the Blue Mountains enjoy four "European" style seasons. The accommodation in the area cater to guests all year round.
