While Autumn and Spring are the best times to visit open gardens in the Blue Mountains, you will find a number of gardens open to the public at anytime of year.
In Spring the Blue Mountains is host to many garden festivals showcasing local gardens during September, October and November.

A highlight of any trip to the region for garden lovers is a visit to the beautiful Blue Mountains Botanic Garden Mt Tomah - open throughout the year. There is a program of guided walks, exhibitions, workshops and talks of interest to anyone who loves gardens.
The following gardens are open at various times during the year - usually Spring and Autumn, however a couple are open all year round and are worth a visit at any time of year. We have also included a couple of open gardens in Oberon.

Blackheath Rhododendron Festival is in early November each year. Other highlights at the garden are April-May for autumn colours and camelias; Sep-Oct for spring blossoms and bulbs; Oct-Nov peak blooming for rhododendrons and azaleas.

Unfortunately this garden is not suitable for wheelchairs. It is also not suitable for small children as there are water features. Rare plants on sale on open days. Tea/coffee and light snacks available to purchase.

Join Head Gardener, Dave Gray, as he leads us through the beautiful gardens of Everglades, looking at all aspects of garden conservation and his own points of interest. Dave has worked for Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens and was also Head Gardener at Vaucluse House, to name just a few of the important roles in his long career. A delicious two-course cold buffet will be served by The Friends of Everglades in our gorgeous Art Deco Tea Rooms (BYO).

This small garden contains over 400 fuchsias and there are hundreds of fuchsias both large and small for sale on the open day.

Hazelbrook, Woodford & Linden Garden Festival
Where: Eight local gardens open
Open: 10am to 4pm: Sat 8 & Sun 9 and Sat 15 & Sun 16 September 2018.
Entry: Tickets available at the garden gates. Entry: $25pp ($20 concession) to all gardens or $5pp single entry. Children 16 years and under free when accompanied by an adult.
Plant sales at Tarraleah, Banool and 20 Mile Hollow Cafe. Present your Garden Festival ticket at 20 Mile Hollow Cafe (Woodford) for a free coffee or tea.
This is a fundraiser for Hazelbrook Public school P&C Association.
Leura Garden Festival
Where: Several gardens open in Leura
Open: 9.30am-4.30pm: Sat 29 Sep to Mon 1 Oct 2018 and Fri 5 to Sun 7 Oct 2018. There will be no festival from Tue 2 Oct to Thu 4 Oct 2018 however plant sales will be open every day from Sat 29 Sep to Sun 7 Oct inclusive. Pre-festival tours will be held from Mon 24 to Fri 28 September 2018.
Entry: $25pp for all gardens or $8pp single entry. Children under 16 free except for Everglades Garden.
Ten private and public gardens will be open. Shuttle bus is available from Leura Station from 9.30am until the close of gardens, stopping at all gardens throughout the day. Shuttle bus tickets are $10 per person for an all day ticket.
