Old Leura Dairy is situated in Leura in the midst of the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains - close to Sydney, just over a one hour drive, and yet a world of its own.
Leura itself offers many attractions, cafes, restaurants, art galleries, boutique shops, bush walking activities, "hard" and "soft" eco-tourism and, for the golfing enthusiasts or corporate golfing event, we have wonderful courses just a 5 minute drive away.
Old Leura Dairy is a 4 star property that is as unique as its surroundings.
The Straw Bale house attracts much attention from our guests with its many comfortable areas, extensive use of recycled materials and reclaimed treasures and, of course, the beautiful straw bale walls. 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms it sleeps up to 11 people.
The Worker's Cottage is the original shelter for the "workers" of the dairy. While retaining its charming, old world personality it contains all the comforts of today. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms allow comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people.
The Milking Shed - enjoy echoes of the past while luxuriating in comforts of the present. A snug hideaway for 2 in the original hayloft and a slow combustion stove all add up to a wonderful holiday. Sleeps up to 4.
The Studio is cute, quaint and cosy. This delightful little nook sleeps 2 (twin or king).

This absolutely charming 1920s weatherboard cottage, which was the original workers cottage of the dairy in Leura, has been fully renovated into a character filled 3 bedroom retreat. Filled with quaint features such as fence paling walls and handmade furniture made from lining boards, you will find original old time pieces as well. Timber floors, stained glass windows, a dcor enhanced by a colour scheme of soft pastels and bright hues, and a main bedroom with an open fireplace all combine to create an enchanting atmosphere. Snuggle down to watch a video or snooze to music on the CD player. Bed linen and feather doonas cocoon two king size beds (can be split into single beds), a queen and a double bed, which make it just perfect for 3 couples, a group of friends or a family. For maximum comfort you will find 2 bathrooms (one of which is ensuite) with claw foot baths, and big fluffy bath sheets, a full kitchen, and a BBQ. Gas heating, electric blankets, and full insulation will ensure you are nice and warm. Leafy views and a northerly aspect add to the perfect picture. A 10-minute walk will take you to the quaintest village in the mountains where you will enjoy the proliferation of cafes, galleries and shops

The Straw Bale House sleeps 11 The passive solar design of this magnificent house and the half metre thick walls made of straw ensure warmth in winter and cool in summer. 80% recycled materials add beauty and character of a unique design. Timbers from an old jetty on the Parramatta River, the luggage rack from a 1927 Plymouth, 7 metre bush poles, rusted corrugated iron, doors and windows from the Queen Victoria Hospital are only some of the creative materials used in the construction of this house. Filled with handcrafted furniture and fittings, and rustic treasures collected from 6 years of active auction hunting you will find every corner brings a new surprise. The house is comprised of 2 wings a living wing and a sleeping wing. Perfect for those who want to talk by the open fire into the wee hours while others are ready for cuddling down to sleep. The co joining tower is a picture gallery of enchanting, old, leadlight windows. Softly shaped rendered walls are accentuated by the contrast of triangular windows, and angles and shapes throughout the house. (Come and see our Truth Window which displays our straw walls!) Numerous and varied areas throughout the house encourage a wide range of activities to maximise the enjoyment of your stay in the world famous Blue Mountains. This house will sleep up to 11 people.

"Buttercup Barn is udderly delicious! Come and savour the atmosphere and charm of this one of a kind hideaway. Enjoy your own sunny courtyard or snuggle in the cosy lounge in front of the slow combustion fire and watch a movie. It has an extraordinary loft bedroom you wont want to leave (except for a soak in the clawfoot bath!!). You will be treated to leafy, distant views of our beautiful World Heritage National Park. Two things sum up how we felt about this wonderful place Gabrielle brought up some home work for a yoga course. Her comment was; Now I understand why writers seek places like this to create and secondly we cancelled our restaurant booking to spend more time in this wonderfully enchanting cottage. Newly constructed out of 95% recycled materials you will be in awe of the beauty and comfort of this little haven that is so environmentally friendly." A 1 1/2 hour drive from Sydney via the M2 or M4 and onto the Great Western Highway brings your directly to Leura. Continue on the highway through the lights at Leura. The 3rd street on the right will be Kings Road. Take this road and follow it to the T intersection with Mount Street. Old Leura Dairy is on this corner. There is a taxi rank immediately outside the train station at Leura. A 3 minute drive (and approximately $7.00) will take you to Old Leura Dairy.
