Madison 's Mountain Retreat is a four-star peaceful bed and breakfast farmstay in Kurrajong Heights , on acres bordering the Wollemi and Blue Mountains National Parks . Secluded with stunning scenery yet easy to reach, we have 8 self-contained cedar cottages and 2 refurbished train carriages. Each can accommodate up to 5 people. Every spacious cottage has a cosy log fire, kitchenette, TV and DVD player.

Some cottages have a private spa, massage is available by appointment and one cabin is wheelchair accessible. Madison 's is ideal for family holidays with the kids - have an adventure when you collect the eggs for breakfast or help us feed the alpacas every day.

Recently, Madison's has hosted garden weddings, 21st parties, wellbeing seminars, large family reunions, yoga retreats, workplace get-aways, womens' annual retreats and other special events.

Madison's has an 18 m indoor heated pool and spa, tennis court, gazebo with BBQ, large shed, common room (with library, pool table and open fire), open space and acres of bush.

Madison's is spectacular in spring, beautiful in summer, exciting in autumn and cosy in winter. Tariffs include a generous breakfast hamper.

Location:

60 minutes from Sydney CBD, with tolls :

Via the M2: Take the M2 to the end, then join the M7 until the Richmond Road turnoff. Follow instructions from the M7 below.

Via the M4:

Follow the M4 until it meets the M7 and head North until the Richmond Road turnoff. Follow instructions from the M7 below.

From the M7:

Take the Richmond Road exit , and continue until the end (it turns into Blacktown Road and then Lennox St ). Turn right into Bosworth St and left immediately, into Kurrajong Road , Richmond , which turns into Bells Line of Road. Madison 's is just 18.8 km from lights at North Richmond . On your way up the hill , you will notice many 60km/hour signs and warnings of a speed camera. The camera is just as you enter Kurrajong Heights. Be careful on the way back too!! We are 3 km from the "Bilpin Apple" sign, on your right.

From Sydney , without tolls : Head north-west toward Windsor (either via Castle Hill or via Parramatta ) and then Richmond . At Richmond head toward Lithgow And follow the instructions as above from Richmond .

50 minutes from Lithgow : Heading east on the Bells Line of Road, about 4 minutes after Bilpin and Mountain Lagoon Road , on the left.



3 hours from Canberra : Join the M7 (tolls) or Northern Road (no tolls), until you get to Richmond Road/ Rooty Hill Road North, then turn into Richmond Road (heading North) and refer to the directions from Sydney (above).

2.5 hours from the Hunter : Either take the F3 to Hornsby, then continue onto Pennant Hills Road (Cumberland Hwy) turning right onto Castle Hill Road, left onto Old Northern Road and right onto Showground Road until you get to Windsor Road which gets you into Windsor then Richmond (see directions above). Or take the Putty Road until you veer right into East Kurrajong Road , and continue on Comleroy Road . Turn right onto Bells Line of Road until you reach us (see directions above).

We have farmstay activities, suggestions for romantic weekends (massage, private chef, private yoga teacher, bush walks), as well as areas suitable for groups. We have full mobile phone coverage, internet access and conference facilities for those professional get-togethers. A unique aspect of Madison's is not just that we can accommodate up to 50 people, but if you book all 10 cabins/trains, we can close the gates, and you actually have the whole place to yourselves. No interruptions. Privacy. Being so small allows us to create the package or event that YOU want, the way you want it to happen

Offsite Madison 's is handy to Kurrajong Village , Bilpin, Mount Tomah Botanic Garden and Mt Wilson. Visit the Zig Zag Railway, enjoy the grass karts, explore produce on the Farm Gate Trail, pick fruit and nuts, visit Tizzana Winery, enjoy a cruise on the Hawkesbury Paddlewheeler, explore the Glow Worm Tunnel at Newnes, the limestone formations at Jenolan Caves, go gold panning at Sofala, golf at Kurrajong and Grose Vale, or go to the races at Clarendon Race Club. There are Galleries nearby, including the Turpentine Tree, Fernbrook and Springside. Many exquisite restaurants are close by (e.g. Lochiel, Apple Bar, Toque).
