Glenbrook Accommodation - Blue Mountains

As you drive up to the Blue Mountains from Penrith, Glenbrook is the first village you will come to.

Most people stop in Glenbrook to visit the Blue Mountains Visitor Information Centre, open from 8.30am every day. It is an excellent starting point for a trip to the Mountains. Helpful and knowlegeable staff can assist with maps, brochures, books and good advice on what to see and do on your trip to the Blue Mountains.

Glenbrook is a small village with some good cafes, interesting shops, a cinema and pretty homes typical of the Blue Mountains area.

Behind the Visitor Information Centre there is a large park - perfect for families. You will find covered gas barbecues, picnic tables, tennis courts and two playground areas for children.

Glenbrook is the first place from which you can enter the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains National Park.

Blue Mountains National Park, Glenbrook

Camping is available in the National Park at the Euroka camping area however bookings and payment must be made in advance.

At the entrance gate to the Park you will receive a small map. A couple of short bushwalks are the Red Hands Cave loop (about a one hour walk) and the Jack Evans Track down to Erskine Creek (about half an hour from the carpark on Nepean Lookout Road). The creek can also be accessed from Plagah Rock. There are swimming holes along the creek. Ask the ranger for details of these walks.

Spring is a good time to walk in this area to see the flowering boronias.
