Blackheath Accommodation - Blue Mountains
Blackheath has some of the most spectacular scenery in the Blue Mountains. It is an excellent place to stay as there is a lot to see and plenty of good quality accommodation.
Located 120 kms northwest of Sydney in the upper Blue Mountains and 11 kms northwest of Katoomba, Blackheath is one of the highest towns in the mountains at 1065m above sea level.
Governor Macquarie gave the town its name in 1815. He recorded in his diary "This place having a black wild appearance I have this day named it Black-heath".
