Bilpin Accommodation - Blue Mountains
Bilpin is a small village located about a 90 minute drive west of Sydney on the Bells Line of Road in the Greater Blue Mountains and makes a perfect day out or weekend away.
Bilpin is famous for its apple orchards and apple juice. It is situated in the middle of orchard country and is known as The Land of the Magic Apple. The cool climate and rich soils have seen orchards grown here since the early days when Sydney was first settled. You will see many roadside stalls selling locally grown produce - especially apples in winter and stone fruit in summer. Many orchards provide opportunities to pick your own fruit.
The village was originally called Bell's Pin, after an Australian politician and explorer Archibald Bell. Bell crossed the Blue Mountains from Richmond to Mount Tomah in 1823 along a route that is now known as Bells Line of Road. The 'Pin' in Bell's Pin was short for pinnacle.
There is some delightful accommodation in the Bilpin area including self contained cabins and B&Bs.
