A list of galleries and exhibitions in the Blue Mountains.
14 Norman Lindsay Cres, Faulconbridge
A permanent exhibition of artist and writer Norman Lindsay is on display in a sandstone cottage and gardens that was the artist's home until he died in 1969. The gallery is run by the National Trust and displays Norman Lindsay's watercolours, oils, etchings, ship models, sculpture and Magic Pudding characters. Enjoy a meal in the lovely cafe and browse in the gift shop where you can buy limited edition watercolour and facsimile etching prints.
Consider taking a 40 minute guided tour of the studio buildings, which run between 10.30am and 2.30pm on an hourly basis. One building is Lindsay's painting studio and library and it is as he left it (brushes, easels, etc). The other studio building was his etching studio and features an information display on how he did his etchings together with his printing press, etching tools and beautiful flat-drawer filing cabinet where he stored his prints.
Special events are occasionally held in the gardens. Telephone the gallery or check their website for up-to-date information on special events.
