Enjoy an Active Blue Mountains
From high adverture abseiling, mountain biking, bushwalking or horseriding, to a gentle leisurely stroll through picturesque towns, villages and shops, boutiques, art and one of the many antique galleries and cafes, the Blue Mountains is for everyone:
- Golf - Golfing doesn’t get more picturesque than from the top of the Blue Mountains (1045mtrs) sweeping fairways at the Blackheath Golf Club. The Wentworth Falls Country and Golf Club was established in 1913 it is less than 90 minutes. Those with a golfing weekend or holiday in mind can explore more inforamtion about taking your next golfing weekend. Both of these golf courses have modern restaurants. The Blackheath golf course in particular has a clubhouse with a brasserie, bar, member’s lounge, billiard room and BBQ facilities which you can enjoy on the verandah overlooking the course.
- Mountain Biking - Book a mountain bike riding tour and experience the tracks that run through towering forests and down thrilling descents. There will be amazing and spectacular views of the Blue Mountains. Take a half or full day trip for a great Blue Mountains adventure.
- Bushwalking- The central Blue Mountains area is a mecca for walkers. The scenery is on a grand scale and access to viewing points is easy. There are short strolls, one day walks or 5 day adventures. Enjoy walking through rainforest, and waterfalls happen to be a feature of the area and a focal point of many walks in the Blue Mountains.
- Canyoning - There are a few important areas for canyoning in the Blue Mountains. The oldest known canyons such as the Grand Canyon and Empress Canyon are on the south side of the Grose Valley not far from Katoomba. Obviously this sport is only for the very adventurous. Beginners are catered for by local tour companies, so if you want to give it a try, the Blue Mountains would be a terrific place to start.
